10 Minute Stretch for Low Back Pain

It's a new year. You've started searching for a new you. You sign up for all the things. You buy the healthiest groceries. You’re basically gonna be the Terminator or Oprah this year- maybe both.

Then February hits and you’re feeling disappointed. You’re not running that 5K yet or lifting 3 times a week or doing Pilates everyday.

And if this sounds like you, you’re NOT ALONE. After many years in the wellness and fitness industry, we see the surge in January and the fall out by the end of the month. It’s NOT sustainable.

So as you move into this new year (and especially after 2020), we want you to set yourself up for success and a sustainable movement practice.

We know that if you take it slow and steady, you will win the race for your health. Start with a 30 minute class once a week and you’ll improve energy, posture, mood, and strength. When you’re consistent with once a week, you’ll find you then have the energy and time for another class, then another, etc. Until you’ve created your best and balanced you.

To honor a more restorative start to your new year, click HERE for simple stretches for your hips and legs. Your back will thank you!

These simple, restorative Pilates hip stretches and leg stretches to help ease lower back pain. Freeing up the leg from the pelvis (in the Pilates and body world we call this differentiating) will liberate your lower back, especially if you're been sitting at a desk or sofa recently!

The only prop you need is a yoga strap or belt.

Remember: You don’t have to do it all just because it’s a new year. In fact, you’ll be more successful with your new year's resolutions and fitness goals if you pace yourself and use some days just for stretches like these.

We’d love to hear from you! Post a pic and tag us on social to let us know what aches and pains are you struggling with.

Stay strong, stay healthy, and stay home.
